Stages Lighting Workshop, Camberwell and Chelsea Colleges of Art – March 2022

A workshop based on iteration and prototyping. Throughout the day, the students were tasked with producing objects based on a set number of instructions, be it one or twenty-five. The limited palette of materials forced the focus onto form, shape and diffusion.

Woodworking Workshop, Camberwell and Chelsea Colleges of Art

The workshop emphasised acquiring hand skill and developing touch for material finishing. The students were provided with an Ash blank of 350x200x25mm, and worked to present six surfaces adequate for finishing. Contemporary and historic techniques were reviewed, with associated information passed on. Each sanded board was finished with different products, from shellac to Osmo. Some fine examples were left planed.
